I am a software engineer, in the industry since 1988. I first became a ham waaaay back in junior high school, in North Babylon, NY (on Long Island). At that time, my father was a high-school math/science teacher with Amityville High School (right down the street from the so-called "Amityville Horror"). Anyway, I was WB2NFI, and when I moved to Scottsdale, AZ, I let it expire.
OK, so I saw the light, studied and got my Tech in the summer of 1998; General was a challenge with the (at the time) 13wpm morse code, but it went fine and I upgraded in the summer of 1999. November of '99 saw me get my Advanced, and Fall of 2000 saw me get my Extra.
